Our History
The First Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro was founded in 1760 with the establishment of a church on Briar Creek and another on Walnut Branch. The present church grew out of the union of these two churches in 1812. In 1974, First Presbyterian affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) to remain true to the Scriptures as God’s inerrant Word, to the Reformed doctrines of grace, and to the Proclamation of God’s grace to all nations.
Our Pastor
Pastor Logan Almy was born and raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia. God saved him when he was a child and called him in his teenage years to be a preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Almy is married to his wife, Natalie, and they have three children: Caleb, Josiah, and Annabelle. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Philosophy and Religion and his Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Before coming to First Presbyterian, Pastor Almy served congregations in Missouri and Minnesota.
